Privacy Hedges & Screening Plants
Need more privacy around your home, pool, patio or property line? Hedging is one of our specialties.
Sterling Gardens Nursery carries privacy hedges and screening plants ranging from smaller container plants to large, established specimens capable of creating an impressive green screen. Popular varieties include Ficus Nitida, Ligustrum Texanum, Podocarpus Gracilior and Laurus Nobilis, along with additional options suited to Southern California landscapes.
Not sure which hedge is best for your property? We'll help you consider height, growth pattern, sun exposure, maintenance and the look you want to achieve.
Delivery and professional hedge installation are available.
Olive Trees & Landscape Trees
Few trees complement a Southern California landscape as beautifully as an olive tree. Sterling Gardens Nursery specializes in fruiting and non-fruiting olive trees in a variety of forms and sizes, from young trees to impressive landscape specimens.
Olive trees bring distinctive silvery foliage, texture and Mediterranean character to courtyards, entries, gardens and larger landscapes. Choose a traditional fruiting olive or enjoy the classic appearance of an olive with a non-fruiting variety.
We also carry a wide selection of evergreen and deciduous landscape trees, available in multiple sizes. Our team can help you select the right trees for shade, screening, architectural interest or a dramatic landscape focal point.
Tree delivery, placement and professional installation are available.
Shrubs & Landscape Plants
The right combination of shrubs and plants can completely transform a landscape. Explore shrubs, ornamental grasses, succulents, tropical plants and drought-tolerant varieties selected for Southern California gardens.
Our experienced nursery team can help you combine plants for the right balance of color, texture, scale and seasonal interest while considering sun, water requirements and long-term maintenance.
Choose your plants and take them home, or let Sterling Gardens incorporate them into a professionally designed and installed landscape.
Drought-Tolerant Landscaping
Beautiful Landscapes Designed for California
A water-wise landscape doesn't have to look sparse. Sterling Gardens Nursery offers an extensive selection of drought-tolerant trees, shrubs, grasses and succulents that bring color and texture to the landscape while reducing water demands.
Our landscape team can also redesign existing yards with low-water plantings and efficient irrigation solutions tailored to Southern California conditions.

From Our Clients
"Stopped by Sterling Gardens Nursery and this place is dialed in. Everything is laid out beautifully, making it easy to walk through and get ideas. Huge selection of plants and trees. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy.

"I had never shopped at a nursery before and I was very nervous because I didn't know the process, but as soon as we parked, Brandon came right up to help. He answered all of our questions professionally and with good humor and had so much patience with my indecision and rambunctious toddler. The prices were excellent and the plants beautiful, I couldn't be happier with how my garden looks on my humble budget. Will definitely be skipping the big stores from now on and coming back to Sterling."

"We purchased 3 trees, 5 flowering vines, and a LOT of ficus for our backyard. Laurie had her crew transform our yard including pulling up and replanting existing plants for maximum appeal. They put in new soil and all new drip lines. Several months later, in spite of record heat, everything is still beautiful and growing.
Laurie even went to our neighbors on our behalf to alert them to a potential leak in their pool which was saturating the ground in our yard. Top notch service, professional, and they work fast."
